# Derived changelog

What's new in each version of Derived, newest first. https://derived.qubixcode.com/changelog

## 1.0.3: Clearer cleaning button (2026-10-03)

### Improved

- The button at the bottom of each list now reads simply Delete, or Move to Trash if you chose the Trash in Settings.

## 1.0.2: Settings fits smaller screens (2026-10-03)

### Fixed

- On smaller screens the Settings window was taller than the screen and its last sections (Pinned projects, Xcode locations) were out of reach. It now fits and scrolls.

## 1.0.1: Easier to enter your license key (2026-10-03)

If you started with the free scan, it was hard to find where your license key goes. Now it is everywhere you look.

### New

- A "You're using the free scan" banner on the Overview, with Enter License Key and Buy Derived.
- Derived menu › Enter License Key.
- A link on the welcome screen for people who bought before their first scan.
- Enter License Key in the menu bar menu, if you turned it on.

## 1.0.0: Derived is here (2026-10-02)

The first release of Derived: see the gigabytes Xcode leaves behind, by real project name, and get them back without breaking the build you're working on.

### New

- DerivedData by real project name, with when you last built it, plus "Project deleted" and "Stale" badges.
- Safe wins: one click for package caches, projects you deleted or haven't built in 90 days, and simulators Xcode can no longer run.
- Simulator runtimes and devices, removed with Apple's own simctl. Running simulators are never touched.
- Archives with app, version and upload status. Only ever moved to the Trash, one by one.
- Device Support folders and Swift Package Manager, CocoaPods and Carthage caches.
- Knows when Xcode is busy: skips projects open in Xcode, folders in use, and everything while a build is running.
- Reads Xcode's own settings, so DerivedData moved to an external drive is found too.
- Shows what your disk actually got back after each clean.
- Pin projects you rarely build so they're never suggested as stale.
- Optional weekly scan and a menu bar total.
- Free scan forever; cleaning with a one-time license for 3 Macs.
- Automatic updates, signed and notarized by Apple.
